UMG: Bastille's Give Me the Future

My role and responsibilities: Discovery, ideation, research, managing and leading other colleagues, storyboarding, prototyping, critique and refinement, 3rd-party consulting, asset creation + production, final product evangelism.

Timeline: Ten months (2021-2022).

Bastille is an English pop-rock band formed in 2010 and managed by EMI. As of February 2022, they have 1.3 million followers on Twitter, 2.4 million on YouTube, and 19 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

EMI approached WPP in July of 2021 to "create an innovative, thought-provoking, one-of-a-kind customer experience that brings the concepts, music and themes of the album 'Give Me the Future' to life."

For EMI, one of the goals was to connect fans closer to an artist, their music and performances than ever before, while also exploring the future of music production, promotion & performance. For Bastille, this is an opportunity to release the world's first, unique immersive music experience to accompany the launch of the new album, while also exploring territory at the intersection of music and tech. For WPP, the short-term goal was highlighting their capabilities in virtual production, innovation, diversity of talent and future transformation.
